Last week, contacted by someone who visited my website asking me about the very rare autograph of the “Rat Pack” members. As an avid collector of Frank Sinatra (and very good with his autograph) for probably 30 years before I see that it was very likely the UN they were real suspects. But I recommend that you undergo a third-party authentication service such as PSA or JSA. Not surprisingly, they have no authentication. He said he was not concerned, because the dealer in Las Vegas included a lifetime guarantee of authenticity. What has happened is very important, and the next, that should anyone who buys a valuable autographs think. The dealer responded with “Oh, I do not think that many of the JSA.”
Now I was not by the fact that she does not worry as the JSA, but what I’ve found so disturbing is that this is a serious problem in the industry’s memories of autographs. And it is basically almost all the autographs Lifetime COA worthless! Yes, I said nothing! Why? For what this dealer is completely void of responsibility, the grant of a COA, that had no criteria, no standards. So no matter who or what this authenticated autograph dealers had all disagree with the outcome. I think in the last 20 years I spent took other COA broker that the customer is protected and not to remove a liability of the seller. I thought all the dealer did call what I did for the last 20 + years and is not specifically state in the COA, “not an authentic autograph.” Who has bought from us can see, that we are on our COA’s “if it fails PSA or JSA authentication.” Therefore, it is never a question, if such a scenario should arise. No room for interpretation, no room for the dealer, without fraud to the detriment of customers.
Took place in the meantime, after this conversation, I started going through all my other dealers COA, reputable dealers. And you know what? No one, not a dealer puts in his / her COA, which is a non-authentic autographs. So what are these other dealers, COA their lives? And who accept it as the “last word” on the autograph? They do say something, PSA or JSA, or may refuse to authenticate through a third party? Who knows? But, unless explicitly stated that the COA and authentication accepted, a refund is honor, it is a guessing game. And certainly not in favor of the buyer.
Now I know there are reputable dealers there, the homage to a PSA or JSA pay. But why leave it open to interpretation? Why not a standard directly on the COA, so customers should not worry if any of the above situation?
So below I’ve got a dozen great concern and my own advice when investing in opinioned autographs. I hope it helps someone out there. » Read more: Autographs For Sale – Are You SURE Your Autographs & Movie Posters Are Guaranteed Authentic?
